Glass partition walls are an excellent way to divide large spaces into smaller ones. They're also great for creating privacy in small areas.
There are three main types of glass: toughened, laminated, and acoustic glass. The Building Regulations: Part K and with guidance from Approved Document K, specifies that glass in ‘critical locations’ should meet minimum safety criteria. This means that it should either be unbreakable or if it does break, that it breaks safely. All glass installed in our partitions and doors is safety glass to Class 1 according to BS EN 12600 and therefore exceeds the minimum safety criteria of the building regulations.
Our glass comes clear as standard but of you require more privacy there are two main options. If you would like all of the glass partitioning to be frosted, we can sandblast one side and add a ritec coating. The ritec coating deters finger prints and marks from showing on the glass.
Alternatively, you can add an adhesive frosting which can can be added in bands or in any design. Logos and patterns can also be added to this window film to create a stylish and individual glass partition,
If you are looking for a glass partition to reduce the noise in your office, acoustic glass may be the solution.
Although acoustic glass partitions are more expensive that a toughened glass partition, the benefit of increased sound partition can be a worthwhile investment. Acoustic glass can be used with our single glazed, double glazed and industrial style partitioning systems. We offer a range of styles to suit your needs.
Why Choose Acoustic Glass?
Whilst single and double glazed glass walls provide a level of sound reduction, acoustic glass offers up to 50% noise reduction
How Does Acoustic Glass Work?
Acoustic glass is made by laminating two pieces of glass together with a clear sound absorbing membrane in the middle. The glass is still clear and is just 0.8mm thicker than toughened glass.
If you are looking for cheap glass partitions then 10mm toughened glass with frameless glass doors is the best option. This is the most widely used type of glass partitioning and offers affordability, safety and flexibility in design.
If you have a tall ceiling or are looking for greater sound reduction, 12mm glass will work for you. Adding a framed door will also stop sound travelling as easily.
If sound reduction is important, acoustic glass partitioning with a framed door is a more premium option.
Lastly if your budget allows for it, double glazed glass partitioning will offer you the greatest acoustics.
